Zooming in to discover the power source; zooming out to share it with others.
In proper set and setting, music has become my natural high; a state of being. Sharing my story to unlock mysteries for those who are searching for something better.
If I said knowing precisely how fast the earth spins beneath your feet, would it alter your creative life? Would the mathematical and universal facts alone, give clarity and focus to letting go of the dumb shit?
For most, likely not.
In a year of music writing, I’ve learned that humans do not respond to observable, micro-data if the broad subject matter is so utterly foreign to them, that in an instant, decide not to register the data. Music theory, music history, music production to name a few, for most non-musicians. Not understanding music production will cause the human brain to forego the data that gives power to the art. The information glosses effortlessly over mountains of similar data diverted to file thirteen in the brain. The data, however, remains in the human body because nothing ever gets permanently deleted. Ever.
The trick I have learned, is to condition the working memory to chill out and allow the deep memory (intuition mixed with decoding) to be discovered. How? By systematically letting go (severing, eliminating, denying) of anything that does not bring me joy. Period. No caveats. No footnotes.
By letting go of non-joyous activities, space gets created and over a period of consistent growth and healing, the mind becomes absorbent again. Child-like. Creative but now with unlocked power to communicate suffering through art. After deconstructing previous biases, the space can now take in the codes and symbols necessary to unlock those mysteries our brains dumped into file thirteen back in the day. The more space we create by letting go, the greater the volumetric capacity to create and accept life increases, exponentially beyond comprehension. (The more I’m able to meditate and exist with relatable music, the more codes of human suffering and connection I receive and it all ultimately fosters growth, through vulnerability.)
Do this regularly, and it becomes an existence. Meditation becomes obsolete by eliminating reactions, and the entire psychology industry implodes. Globally.
Apply the mathematical and universal facts to a story the human brain can relate to and facts become logical; relatable to a demographic of humans. Not all. To fully imagine if the earth suddenly stopped rotating, the human body would cease to exist likely before it registered in the brain that world stopped. The speed at which the body would fly into any sizable object would obliterate the body on impact. The Wile E Coyote animation where the creature’s spine exits the body through the front, upon any forward impact, would give vivid truth to the absurdity of it all.
Visualizing your spine exiting your body upon impact gives association to the speed of the earth spinning, not the mathematical facts themselves.
That is how I zoom in on music, then back out again to share it with the masses. I take an artist’s production of mathematical facts and translate them into emotional outbursts of relatability so readers connect to the music, through a medium they can relate to: human suffering.
The more codes we unlock, the more peace we find within, on the magical journey to simply exist on a giant rock that could wipe us out in less than a blink.
